Watch out for bowel obstructions! I didn't and got hospitalized!

This summer, I started experiencing small bowel obstructions. This resulted in symptoms where eating or drinking anything would cause me to throw up. In essence, nothing would go through my stomach.

I was shocked since I am 21 and young, and this seemed like an old-person issue.

I thought I could just "sleep it off", despite seeing blood in my poop. Thankfully, some good friends of mine urged me to go to the emergency room.

I was then diagnosed with having a small bowel obstruction. I was then told that surgery may be needed... that was definitely a scare. Thankfully I didn't need it, but I was still hospitalized for a few days without food and water. They stuck a nasogastric tube (NG tube) down my nose to keep my stomach empty. They also hooked me up to an IV for hydration.

A few things I learned:

Anyways: IF YOU ARE YOUNG, BE MINDFUL OF YOUR GUT HEALTH. DON'T BE STUPID AND SEE THE DOCTOR IF YOU FEEL SOMETHING IS OFF.

Always remember to cherish your health.

P.S. I took a selfie when I had an NG tube in. That shit goes INTO your nose and into your stomach, and pokes at your throat!
